UNC Asheville Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society

Greetings fellow Atmospheric Sciences majors and welcome to the UNC Asheville Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society (AMS)!

The purpose of the Student Chapter is to support the career development and engagement of all atmospheric sciences majors. To accomplish this, we host social events, invite professional meteorologists and climatologists for speaking engagements, encourage peer mentoring, provide outreach to local K–12 schools, and support professional networking, both on and off campus. We are an official UNC Asheville Student Organization and often collaborate with the local Asheville AMS Chapter. Please ask your professors to add you to the department’s official email list so that you can learn about all the opportunities available to you in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences.

We invite your participation in the Student Chapter and we look forward to a great year filled with new opportunities, activities, connections, and friendships as we explore the variety of career pathways within the atmospheric sciences!
